Genesis Debuts High-Tech GV80 SUV

Genesis GV80 SUV - Toronto, ON

After months of anticipation, the first-ever Genesis SUV has finally been revealed — and it was definitely worth the wait.

The three-row 2021 Genesis GV80 boasts a sculpted, sleek exterior design and a clean, spacious interior look. This powerful, responsive vehicle can be equipped with either standard rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive.

Most importantly, the Genesis GV80 SUV is loaded with a wealth of thrilling new technologies:

  • An augmented reality navigation system combines video images of the route ahead with virtual graphic overlays to help you reach your destination more easily.

  • The Genesis-first electronically controlled suspension connects to the navigation system to preview the road and adjust for a more comfortable ride.

  • The world-first active-motion driver’s seat contains seven air cells that adjust over long trips to keep fatigue to a minimum.

  • Road-Noise Active Noise Control (RANC) is another world-first technology that makes the cabin quieter by blocking intrusive sounds with digital signal processing.

  • Smart Cruise Control with Machine Learning (SCC-ML) is also a world-first, featuring the ability to learn your individual driving habits using artificial intelligence.

You’ll have the opportunity to experience the cutting-edge new GV80 and take it out for a test drive later this year when it arrives at Genesis Downtown.

Genesis GV80 SUV Coming in Early 2020

Genesis GV80 - Toronto, ON

Since its founding, the Genesis brand has focused on one thing — creating high-quality, well-crafted cars. Now, the brand has decided to change things up a bit with its first-ever SUV. The Genesis GV80 will be joining the brand’s lineup sometime during the first quarter of 2020, and we’re looking forward to offering it here at Genesis Downtown.

The Genesis SUV was first introduced three years ago during the New York International Auto Show. It’s set to compete in the luxury midsize SUV segment, coming up against vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5, and Audi Q7.

While we don’t have many specific details about the production GV80, we have seen some spy shots of the vehicle. It looks like this premium SUV will boast a pentagon-shaped grille, thin LED headlights, and other design features that were apparent in the GV80 concept that debuted in 2017.

The GV80 is likely to carry either a 3.8-litre V6 or a 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6, though neither option has been confirmed. One thing can be sure, though — since this model is a Genesis, it will boast a beautifully designed interior and an array of advanced technologies.

Along with the GV80, Genesis plans to introduce several other new vehicles within the next few years. This includes the GV70 compact SUV, which is set to hit the market in early 2021.
